Kazoku Kai International Karate Camp June 2007
This year the number of attendees were down quite abit. Unfortunately many of the British members did not make it over for this years camp. We certainly missed them.
The camp started with Sensei Ridgeway, 7th dan, showing the continuous Heian Yodan bunkai on the Friday night. It was good to see the practical side of the kata.
Saturday morning Sensei Peter Collins, 6th dan, taught the group some of Kase Sensei's kumite drills. After lunch Sensei Mah taught the first 14 exercises in the Chito-Ryu Hen Shu Ho. There were some pretty heavy bodies hitting the mats that afternoon. Fortunately no lunch reappeared again during this session.
Sunday morning Sensei Mike Scales, 7th dan, taught Kongo No Kun. A nice bo kata. In the afternoon Sensei Derek Ridgeway finished the day/camp with Ni Sei Shi and the bunkai.
It was another great camp with much skills demonstrated and knowledge shared.
This karate camp is open to all who are serious and interested in learning karate/martial arts. If you'd be interested in attending this camp please contact Sensei Mah by e-mail at ktmafc@shaw.ca for information on the next camp.
